Beautiful for a black girl? Bruh

Nothing and I mean nothing irritates me more then we black women being referred to as beautiful for a black  girl. Stop rewind and come again because I know you never said that nonsense to me, what does that even mean. So by that definition black women are ugly it’s just certain black women are above average don’t play me or get hurt.

Since the 1900’s during slavery and beyond that black women have been told we are unattractive unworthy our only purpose is to work to we die that’s if we survived the journey from Africa, or didn’t get murdered as a child or used as our slave masters play thing for his sick exotic fantasies. Then after slavery we was again told that European features were more attractive from the hair to the skin colour a continuous cycle.

If you turn on your television and this is all you see it’s been fed into your psyche and it stays there that you are unattractive and if your hair is straight and your nose is small and thin and skin is lighter what effect will that have on you. The subtle but effective magazines aimed at black folk advertising hair relaxers with tag lines such as ‘if you relax your hair to job is likely to be yours’ etc you get the picture?

So now as we grow stronger and are starting to reclaim our beauty people are still trying to beat us black women back down, still saying we’re to dark to be attractive, or if you’re light skinned you must be stush blah blah. Black women are beautiful period no matter the amount of melanin, whether our hair is curly kinky etc no one can strip is of our identity and tell us we are attractive for a black woman how dare you demean us in such a way.

Think about it no one says that nonsense to white women or other races it’s only us were not pretty for a black girl, or for a dark skinned girl we are pretty period everything that makes us black women is what represents our beauty and it’s time for you to see the black girl magic keeps on shining…..
